Hello I am the Active Families Manager. The Active Families project will provide opportunities for families to become more active, stay healthy, and try a range of different activities together as a family.
Myself, Jack and Charlotte, our two active communities workers will be organising various activities and events throughout the year across North Northamptonshire utilising open spaces, parks, community and leisure centres.
1. How long have you worked for North Northamptonshire Council for?
I’ve worked for North Northamptonshire Council for almost 2 months now.
2. What is the most rewarding part of your job?
For me, it’s the fact that I’m working in the areas that I’ve grown up in, enabling me to make a difference in the communities just outside my front door. Not only that but seeing differences individually in people that have took part in the activities that the team has coordinated, both physically and mentally improving their health through being active is a massive thing. I’m looking forward to developing the active families project so that it can make a positive change to local families health and provide opportunities for all to be more active.
3. How do you unwind after work?
I enjoy being active outside of work, playing football twice a week (admittedly not very well) or going to the gym. When I’ve got time off I also enjoy travelling and visiting new places with a particular affinity with Germany where I actually got married earlier this year.
4. Which flavour of ice cream do you prefer?!
Mint Chocolate Chip and a flake if you’ve got one.
