Meet the Senior Team At Corby East Midlands International Pool

Hello, I’m Craig Dewar, the Facility Manager at Corby East Midlands International Pool and I’m supported by Kate Trenwith the Assistant Manager.
Our main roles and responsibilities are to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all staff, customers, contractors and visitors comply with the NNC policies and procedures, to lead, manage and motivate all operational staff with their development and performance.
Within our role we ensure an excellent standard of customer care is implemented and maintained at all times, managing customer comments, compliments and complaints in accordance with NNC Policies and key performance indicators, ensuring targets are achieved in line with budgets.
The facility is extremely busy with over 60,000 people coming through the door every month, its great to see so many individuals benefitting from our services and improving their health and wellbeing. The overall goal is to ensure a varied programme is accessible for all residents of North Northamptonshire and surrounding areas, promoting a safe and positive environment for our customers to enjoy. We're extremely lucky to be managing such a fantastic facility and look forward to increasing the range of services we provide over the years to come.
We asked a few questions to both Craig and Kate to find out more about them.
Craig Dewar:
1 How long have you worked for North Northamptonshire Council for? 19 years.
2 What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing children and adults learn how to swim and gain in water confidence. It's also great to see what positive impact our services have on individuals’ health and overall wellbeing.
3 How do you unwind after work? I enjoy catching up with friends and colleagues for a round of golf.
4 Which flavour of ice cream do you prefer?! It has to be Vanilla.
Kate Trenwith:
1 How long have you worked for North Northamptonshire Council for? 21 years
2 What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing how our staff and facilities can really make a difference to so many people’s lives. It's lovely to see our customers make friends through meeting in an aqua class or adult swimming lesson. Plus seeing people rehabilitate after undergoing surgery or struggling with their mental health and wellbeing. We don’t just run leisure facilities; we provide that social aspect and safe place for so many.
3 How do you unwind after work? I like to get out in the fresh air and enjoy a walk with family and friends, catching up on what everyone’s been up to throughout their day.
4 Which flavour of ice cream do you prefer?! Mint Chocolate Chip, although I’m not fussy when it comes to ice cream!
